Google Rolled Out Its Mobile-first Index On Some Sites With A Very Slow Implementation

Google Webmaster trends analyst Gary Illyes spoke to the audience about Mobile-first index’s rollout  SMX East conference in NYC. He also said that the implementation will be slow and on few sites.

It’s implementation came as a surprize since it was not expected to roll out until the end of this year but the positive test result encouraged Google to make this move early.

Classifiers have been defined by Google to know if a site is ready for mobile-first index. There work is to determines equality and comparability of mobile and desktop sites when it comes to link, schema etc.

Gary also said that google has rolled out mobile-first index to only few sites on purpose to test it more better.
